Dr Dan Robinson has recently performed a case on a patient with a fibro-osseous lesion of the frontal sinus. Fibro-osseous lesions are tumours which are made up of bone. The majority of these tumours are benign.

Recently Dr Dan Robinson blogged about the telephone deformity after an otoplasty. It is also possible that patients can have a reverse telephone deformity after an otoplasty.
One of the commonest causes for failure of an otoplasty is the telephone deformity. The telephone deformity is where the middle part of the ear sits close to the mastoid bone [skull] and the top and the bottom of the ear are very prominent. This causes the ear to look like a telephone.

Dr Robinson has a continuing interest in research in FESS (Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery) and is very happy to announce that he is about to begin a research trial into cilary function in the nose. Cilia in the nose work together to move particles of matter from the front of the nose to the back of the nose. These cilia can become damaged in certain circumstances.
Dr Dan Robinson has been involved in a prospective research trial looking at the safety of intra nasal steroids after FESS [Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery] The results of the study have been surprising and have been presented at an international conference.
