Problems with the ear can be concerning for patients. Cosmetic deformity of the ear may cause a significant reduction in self-esteem, with some patients experiencing teasing at school.
The commonest congenital abnormality of the ear is called “LOP ear” which is otherwise known as have “Bat ears” or very prominent ears. This deformity can be readily corrected with a procedure called an otoplasty.
Other conditions which Dr Dan Robinson performs regularly on the ear include removal of skin cancer from the ear, insertion of grommets from the ear and closing defects on the ear caused by inserting earrings.
